Ask Our Engineers

Q: Can my airflow Sensor be used with reverse flow?

A: Yes, the Microbridge airflow sensor is inherently bi-directional. The un-amplified product will exhibit a reverse voltage for instance -44.5 mV versus + 44.5 mV for the AWM2100V. The amplified products can, to a limited extent, also be used in the reverse flow, however most listings will only work from the 1 VDC null to the ground rail of the op-amp (typically .3 VDC). A special listing for amplified bi-directional use is also established AWM3303V for this purpose. For more information on our airflow sensors, request the AWM700 Series or AWM90000 Series product sheets.

What’s New

Wider Variety of Rocker Switches Available

Honeywell has added to its range of rocker switches three new series, offering miniature, subminiature and full-size sealed illuminated and non-illuminated products. The series presents a variety of aesthetic and functional options as well as design flexibility and enhanced reliability. They feature industry-standard dimensions, agency approvals and a choice of lamp and circuit combinations.

For more information, request an MR/MRS or FR/SR Rocker Switches product sheet.

New V9 Series Introduced

The V9 series DC switch can be a cost effective solution for position detection in applications controlling electric loads greater than 15 Amps or a primary circuit requiring a contact air gap greater then 3 mm - making this switch often ideal for direct current applications.

Potential applications may include power tools, home appliances, vending machines, gaming equipment and information technology equipment.

For more information, request a V9 Miniature Switch product sheet.

Featured Products

78000 Series Transparent Heater

Whether you’re pumping gasoline outdoors or transporting materials in a warehouse freezer, a drop in temperature can quickly freeze an LCD and render it unreadable. Honeywell’s flexible transparent heaters protect LCDs and can preserve readability in humid conditions with temperatures as low as -40° C!

Indium tin oxide technology makes our 78000 Series heaters much more transparent than standard heaters, which use resistive heating wires that can block the viewing surface.

The 78000 Series heater, a low energy-consuming device, can be operated either by battery or with various other power options. Other potential applications may include LCD panels on forklift trucks, hand-held terminals and meters and heads-up displays on vehicles.

For more information on the 78000 Series Transparent Heater, request a product sheet.

Test & Measurement

Miniature and Subminiature Load Cells

In capacities from 50 grams to 10,000 pounds, Honeywell’s Sensotec miniature and subminiature load cells come in tension and compression models with enhanced accuracies. Extremely small sizes can be incorporated into existing machines or space-restricted areas. Rugged all-welded stainless steel construction enhances reliability. Custom engineering is available for any application.

For more information on our miniature and subminiature load cells, request product information.

On the Web

Don’t Miss This Web Seminar on Pressure Sensor Products

Honeywell continues its "Sensing & Control" educational series with a Web seminar for design engineers involved in specifying and selecting pressure sensors for OEM applications at 2 p.m. (EST) Wednesday, Nov. 15. Honeywell design and application engineers will discuss pressure sensor products, including technologies used by pressure transducer manufacturers and Honeywell’s proprietary Advanced Thick Film (ATF) technology, employed in our MLH Series pressure sensors.

Join us Nov. 15 to find out more about specifying and selecting pressure transducers including:

  • Technical considerations in selecting pressure sensors and transducers

  • Understanding industry definitions
  • Technologies employed in the manufacture of pressure transducers
  • Honeywell’s Advanced Thick Film (ATF) technology overview
  • Honeywell’s MLH pressure transducer construction and operation
Honeywell has been involved in the design and manufacture of pressure sensors and transducers for nearly 50 years and maintains one of the largest pressure transducer product portfolios among all manufacturers.

Stay tuned for more information on this Web seminar!
